Loader/Skid Steer Training
Recommended for: Both experienced and inexperienced operators and is designed to provide Personnel with the knowledge to operate this type of equipment in a safe and effective manner.
Objective: To ensure that operators of skid steer and wheel loaders understand their responsibilities and apply safe and correct operating procedures in the workplace.

Course Time: Theory: 4 hours, Practical: 1 to 2 hour
Knowledge and skill to be acquired:
- Law and the operator
- Understanding the equipment and components
- Basic principles of operation
- Daily inspection procedures
- Fuel Handling
- Understanding warning signals and environmental hazards, such as hydro lines and terrain conditions
- Safety in the workplace
Theory and Practical Competence Evaluation: Multiple choice (can be verbal if required)
Practical: Each operator must be able to prove competency in all aspects of Skid Steer or Wheel Loader operation pertaining to his/her job function.
A pass mark of 80% in both theory and practical is required in order to be certified as a competent operator. A written report is issued on each operator indicating attitude, response to instruction, operating knowledge, ability and our instructor’s assessment of practical competence on a test marking sheet. Each operator who meets the required pass mark in both theory and practical will receive a wallet card indicating equipment tested on.
